Indie’s World is a shelter where every day is both a battle and a victory for the rescued dogs of Mauritius. Behind every rescue stands a dedicated team: Cindy and Malika, the passionate founders, a group of committed employees, and volunteers from all around the world who provide care, walks, rehabilitation, and affection.
All together, we give these wounded dogs a second chance, in a place where love and dedication guide every action.

On December 17, 2017, on the side of a road deep in the forest, this malnourished and exhausted puppy, covered in burning engine oil, was found. He was fighting to survive, unaware that a helping hand was about to change his destiny forever.
Thanks to the care and love he received, his skin healed and his strength returned. In his eyes now shines the hope of a new life that is only just beginning.
Playful and affectionate, Indie is the embodiment of hope. He is living proof that every fight is worth fighting, inspiring every new arrival at the shelter to believe in a second chance.
A shared look… and it became obvious. This fragile little being, desperate for warmth and comfort, nestled against Cindy’s neck. From that moment on, they were inseparable.
She cared for him, fed him, and gave him the love he had been denied. While on holiday in Mauritius, her sister Malika, moved by the story, said: “

Saving one puppy, then one dog… then another.
Very quickly, it became Cindy’s daily life. “Each one is unique. With each one, a special bond is formed.” Some arrive broken, starving, marked by suffering. Some, too weak, pass away despite every effort. Others, against all odds, regain life and finally discover the gentleness they always deserved.
